BIOVIZION MEDICAL IMAGING SYSTEM
A simple way to be more effective

INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS

For optimal results, the BioVizion medical imaging system requires a controlled environment in which to operate. For this reason, it is important to designate a room within the clinic to be used as the image lab or image room and that the following installation standards be adhered to.

IMAGE LAB

The room or lab designated for the installation of the BioVizion medical imaging system needs to meet the following requirements:

Recommended room dimensions

  • 11’ total length
  • 11’ total width (4’ for system installation)
  • 6’ between the camera and the patient

To minimize light reflection, the lab walls must be painted a dark, flat colour.
The floor covering must also be of a non-reflective material and colour.

The doors and windows must be able to block out all exterior light and the light switch should be located for easy access by the image technician.

Electric wall outlets (120V) must be located immediately behind or beside both the imaging column and the patient booth.

An Internet or local network connection must be located near the imaging column. A network connection is required in order to use the BioVizion system as an image server.

    ADDITIONNAL CONSIDERATIONS

The patient booth provides a degree of privacy for the patient. However, its primary technical function is to block out ambient light. For this reason, its installation and location within the lab are critical to the quality of the images obtained from the BioVizion system.

The imaging column is calibrated during installation. It is therefore critical that the column not be moved after installation.

To avoid influencing the patient’s natural posture during image capture, it is important that the patient not be able to see the system computer screen during the imaging session.

The recommended image lab dimensions are designed to provide sufficient space for the image technician and the patient. It must be noted that a certain amount of space is also required to permit the patient to change comfortably prior to the imaging session. Although it is not a requirement, a black curtain may be used to separate the system installation space from the technician and preparation space.
