AN EXCITING INNOVATION IN MEDICAL IMAGING SYSTEMS
The BioVizion system, created and developed by Cryos Technologies Inc., helps the clinician evaluate a patient’s postural condition. It provides the clinician with a non-invasive diagnostic tool for visualization and measurements. In addition, it allows patients to see their postural condition and better participate, when possible, in correcting it. It is based on the simple concept of capturing and filtering the effect of changing light reflections off of the skin surface.

HOW IT WORKS

Patients are illuminated by two fluorescent lighting units - one on each side of the imaging column. Using the BioVizion software, the clinician can then take pictures of the patient at various heights and in different positions. These pictures are then saved in the patient’s file. These images are then filtered to capture the effect of changing light reflections off of the skin surface.

GRAPHIC MAPPINGS AND MEASUREMENT TOOLS

From these filtered images, BioVizion produces high-quality, full-colour graphic mappings of the skin surface clearly highlighting variations caused by postural, structural and muscular pathologies and inconsistencies.

BioVizion also provides tools to accurately and rapidly measure angles and distances to complete diagnosis and, more importantly, to provide a basis for future comparison.

Consult the Image Gallery section to view examples of skin surface mappings obtained with the BioVizion Medical Imaging system.

POWERFUL PATIENT FILE MANAGEMENT CAPABILITIES

BioVizion comes with a full software package to assist you in managing the images. Its patient file management capabilities are the key benefit that the system offers:
The basis for a structured and credible follow-up.

The software package also permits the integration of all key clinic management functions around the patient file – patient profile, treatment notes, image history, reports, appointments and billing: An integrated system for the modern clinic.

IMAGING COLUMN

The imaging column is an aluminum housing which contains the vertical positioning system for the camera and supports the lights. It also houses the control center which, linked to the computer, controls the movement of the digital colour camera and the intensity of the lighting. The lighting system is composed of two units containing fluorescent tubes, which, through computer management, illuminate the patient uniformly.

PATIENT BOOTH

This is a partially enclosed compartment with nonreflective modular wall panels and a reflective floor. The patient stands in the booth. The floor is marked to facilitate patient positioning.

PODOSCAN

The podoscan is composed of two scanners for taking impressions of the feet. It is installed under the floor of the patient booth, which serves as a cover for it and can be easily opened from the front.

INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS

For optimal results, the BioVizion medical imaging system requires a controlled environment in which to operate. For this reason, it is important to designate a room within the clinic to be used as the image lab or image room and that the following installation standards be adhered to.
